What is the Residency Program?

If you are exploring a call to ministry, The Co-op’s Residency Program is your next step. This is a twelve month leadership and formation program for recent college graduates that is based in the local church. It is designed to help young Christian leaders learn and practice an integrated life of faith and work. You’ll be getting practical, on-the-ground experience that will make you a better, more marketable candidate for both future graduate study or employment.

What to Expect

01. Spiritual disciplines

The Christian life has to be practiced, and we designed the program centered around spiritual disciplines like prayer, intentional Bible study, small groups, and others. Why? Because burnout is real, and we want to teach you sustain a life-long practice of faith.

02. Work

This is a professional, paid, entry-level position within a local church from June through May. You’ll be expected to make a significant contribution to the local church by offering your gifts. You’ll be challenged like you never have before, and you’ll discover gifts you never knew you had.

03. Network

The transition from college into the real world is harsh. The Residency Program ensures that you don’t have to start your journey into vocational ministry alone. You’ll be connected with a larger network of peers and church professionals to help you figure out your next steps.

04. leadership development

You’ll gain invaluable experience and training to be able to confidently step into a position of leadership when your time in the Residency Program is done.
