What is the Summer Internship?

The Co-op’s Summer Internship is a ten-week summer experience of work, prayer, discipleship formation, and vocational discernment in a local church.

Who is the Summer Internship for?

The Summer Internship is for college and grad students who want to grow their relationship with Christ and explore what it looks like to be a leader in the Church.

The program was started within the United Methodist Church, but you can participate regardless of your denominational background.

What to Expect

01. Community

You will meet other college students serving in churches across Mississippi during two summer retreats. You will be connected with an intergenerational Christian community. Expect laughter, fun, food, and new friendships.

02. Work

You will gain exposure to different areas of ministry, on-the-ground training, and direct apprenticeship to pastors and staff. This is a paid internship with housing provided.

Your day-to-day work will vary according to your gifts, interests, and the partner church with whom you are working.

03. Prayer

You will learn spiritual and biblical disciplines of communal prayer, theological reflection, and vocational discernment.

Each of us has a gift to share with the Body, and we pray that this summer will be just one step on the journey to discovering the ways in which God is calling you to offer yourself to the Church.

04. Discipleship

You will receive one-on-one investment by disciples of Jesus who are living out their faith in the body of Christ. You will be equipped and empowered to make disciples in whatever vocation you ultimately choose.
